If you have an animal you need to find a home for, please read the following:
- ACR&S only deals in exotic domestic animals such as guinea pigs, birds, and rabbits. If you have a cat or dog who needs a new home, please check Petfinder for shelters in your area. You can also check Google for breed-specific rescues.
- If you wish to keep your pet until it finds a good home, we can DEFINITELY help. Send us a brief description and a high-quality digital photo of your pet. We will then list your pet among our adoptables on both this site and our Petfinder page. You will in effect become a foster home for your animal, except that you will need to continue to pay all costs including vet costs, which we can get for you at a reduced rate. Your pet will need to have been checked by a vet within 6 months and if your pet is not altered, you may need to pay for this to be done. We will advertise your pet, screen applications, and find the very best home possible for your pet. PLEASE BE AWARE that this is NOT a quick process. It may take several months for your pet to find a new home.
- ACR&S only accepts direct surrenders from animal shelters. If you must get rid of your animal immediately, please take your animal to the shelter in your county (click here for a list of local shelters). You may ask them to call us but we cannot promise that they will do so. When we have room, we check the shelters frequently and take in those animals that we can.
- ACR&S is a very small organization. We do not have a central facility; all of our pets are in foster homes. Therefore we do not have room for more than 10-15 animals at a time. Be aware that we are almost always full and may not be able to take your pet.
